We are seeking an experienced CLIA Lab Lead Technician to oversee laboratory operations in the absence of the General and Technical Supervisors. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth laboratory functions and uphold the highest standards of analytic performance.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee laboratory operations during the absence of the General and Technical Supervisors.
  • Be accessible to testing personnel at all times during testing.
  • Monitor test analyses and specimen examinations to maintain acceptable levels of analytic performance.
  • Resolve non-technical and technical problems, consulting with the Technical Supervisor or Director when necessary.
  • Ensure remedial actions are taken when test systems deviate from established performance specifications.
  • Confirm that patient test results are not reported until corrective actions are completed and test systems are functioning correctly.
  • Maintain all necessary records and logs.
  • Ensure delegated responsibilities are properly performed.
  • Contact General Supervisor, Technical Supervisor, and/or Laboratory Director as needed.
  • Perform clinical laboratory testing accurately and timely.
  • Follow all laboratory procedures and policies.
  • Process specimens, perform test procedures, and generate reports.
  • Identify and consult on problems that may adversely affect test performance.
  • Perform and document corrective actions as assigned.
  • Ensure reports are generated only when systems are functioning properly.
  • Perform equipment maintenance procedures as assigned.
  • Assist in quality control and improvement activities.
  • Assist in the training and orientation of other testing personnel.
  • Complete and document mandatory training and continuing education activities.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with CLIA regulations.
  • Proficiency in Q-PCR and Real-Time PCR.
  • Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) certification.
  • Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
  • Liquid handling skills.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of qPCR experience.
  • Must have lead experience in a laboratory setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Life Science required due to CLIA lab regulatory guidelines.
