The Business Development Manager/Senior Business Development Manager will play a key role in the success of IDT Biologika and will be a member of the company’s global business development team. By bringing extensive knowledge in the fill and finish and drug product manufacturing, in the areas of biologics vaccines, cell and gene therapy, the candidate will contribute to the business growth. Knowledge in cGMP clinical and commercial manufacturing CDMO market is required as well as strong relationships with key decision-makers at mid & large-sized biotech and pharma companies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leading the Business Development function for customers from the US and focus especially on drug product, fill finish and packaging service offerings from IDT Biologika to win additional and expand existing customer business for later clinical phases and commercial products. The candidate will be responsible to achieve quarterly and annual revenue and EBITDA goals and to build up near term tactics and long-term strategies to achieve those goals.
- Develop new client relationships through use of personal and company network. New leads from referrals, conferences, networking/marketing events and maintain/expand industry expertise and requisite company training.
- Perform strategic review of current proposals and contracts and work with IDT’s expert teams to implement modifications.
- Oversee and participate in preparation of quotes, proposals, and protocols consistent with Company guidelines
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Chemical Engineering, or similar.
- Master, PhD or similar post-graduate degree or certification will be an asset.
- Experience: At least 5 years’ experience in B2B sales in a cGMP CDMO or similar organization with specific focus in clinical/commercial manufacturing opportunities. Experience in Biologics CDMO in addition is preferred.
- Track record of successfully closing clinical/commercial service contracts, as well as multi-year and multi-service contracts with small and mid & large-sized biotech companies.
- Demonstrated success of growing business within mid-large sized global CDMO’s is required.
- Experience in negotiating complex and large business contracts and service agreements.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong/positive attitude and the ability to include and influence others internally and externally.
- Organized way of handling clients and internal stakeholders, to prioritize tasks and to work solution-oriented.
- Combination of customer centricity and internal requirements in order to come up with ideal solutions to win new opportunities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast pace environment balancing requirements from different directions. A team player that can influence and win the support of all stake holders
- IT proficiency with SAP CRM and Microsoft Office suite desired.
- Ideally located in one of the major biotech/pharma hubs
- Able to travel up to 30% of the time
