Job Description
The SHARE Research Study in the Department of Molecular Biology at the Johns Hopkins University is looking for a Research Program Coordinator.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule clinic appointments for the research studies.
- Responsible for enrollment of study participants and oversight of study procedures and obtain informed consent.
- Screen and interview study participants.
- Call participants to remind them of appointments.
- Prepare study folders for clinic.
- Greet/receive/check in study participants, and escort participants between procedures within the Johns Hopkins Hospital and Hopkins Bay View Medical Center.
- Print schedules and distribute to appropriate staff.
- Print and mail reminders and missed visit letters.
- Update clinic forms as appropriate.
- Answer questions related to study protocol and procedures.
- Collaborate with JHMI staff to coordinate various tests, procedures, and billing.
- With the participants’ written permission, send letters to participants regarding results of tests and procedures.
- Develop and maintain protocol databases to track participants’ completion of study requirements.
- Prepare reports with descriptive statistics using Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Access.
- Participate in writing various types of reports e.g., IRS reports, progress reports.
- Collect, analyze, and present data at regular meetings.
- Review, organize and distribute data to other sites.
- May serve as petty cash custodian.
- Adhere to all protocol requirements to ensure the validity of the research.
- Will work with Principal Investigators, the Data Coordination Center, study staff in Baltimore, MACS sites, and other coordinators.
- Complete, satisfy and adhere to all training related to human research and HIPAA.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Working schedule may include 2 or more evening clinics per week, and one Saturday per month.
- Knowledge and experience in Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Must be sensitive to confidentiality of the study participants.
- Must be able to multi-task and apply meticulous attention to detail.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, and work well with study participants, investigators, and study staff.
- Must be comfortable working with bisexual and homosexual men, and people living with HIV, as well as working in a diverse office environment.
- Must adhere to HIPAA and Human Subjects requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline.
- Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
