Qualifications
- Education: HS diploma or GED equivalency required
- Experience/Certification: 1-year experience with research animals + LAT certification OR Bachelor of Science in Animal Science or similar + 3 years of experience working with research animals OR 10-13 years of experience working with research animals

- The pay for this position is $30.00 USD per hour.
Responsibilities
- We are seeking a Research Specialist III – Rodent Behavioral and Physiological Phenotyping Technician for our Insourcing Solutions site in Baltimore, MD
- These duties may include working with other species
- Interface with research staff to assist with logistics and scheduling of projects and conduct research and laboratory support services as directed
- Conduct behavioral phenotyping on rats to assess locomotor, cognitive, sensory, and emotional function
- Tests may include (but are not limited to): gait analysis, home cage activity detection, rotarod, and grip strength
- Maintain all related logs and spreadsheets for data storage
- Comply with safety policies, procedures and SDS guidelines, including those related to biohazards and radioactive substances
- Maintain required attendance level and adherence to work schedule in accordance with required staffing levels in order to ensure that assigned duties are completed
- Conducts animal work without the use of perfumed products i.e
- soap, lotion, shampoo, laundry detergent, etc. as these may have a negative impact on reliability of results in longitudinal studies
- Handles large, aged rats gently and calmly
