Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Bioinformatics Scientist to join our department at Psomagen.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting our NGS data operations, communicating with clients, and performing advanced bioinformatics analyses.

Responsibilities

  • 1. NGS Data Operation and LIMS Operation:
    • Manage and maintain NGS data pipelines and workflows
    • Ensure data quality and integrity through LIMS operation
    • Collaborate with internal teams to optimize data processing and analysis
  • 2. Troubleshooting for Clients:
    • Investigate and resolve data-related issues and discrepancies
    • Provide timely and effective solutions to client concerns
    • Communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders
  • 3. Client Communication:
    • Build strong relationships with clients through effective communication and collaboration
    • Understand client research goals and objectives to deliver tailored solutions
    • Provide regular updates and reports to clients on project progress and results
  • 4. Single-Cell RNA Seq QC/Advanced Analysis and Olink QC and Analysis:
    • Perform quality control and advanced analysis of single-cell RNA sequencing data
    • Conduct QC and analysis of Olink proteomics data
    • Develop and implement new analysis pipelines and methods to improve data interpretation

Minimum Qualifications and preferences

  • Ph.D. in Bioinformatics or similar field with at least 2 years of experience
  • Familiarity with NGS technology and workflows in Linux environment
  • Experience using bioinformatics tools and familiarity with genomic/proteomic database
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills in English
  • Experience with scripting languages, including Python, R, Bash
  • Ability to work as part of a team with external collaborators and independently with minimal supervision

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with workflow languages such as NextFlow, CWL, Snakemake
  • Familiarity with LIMS systems and data management best practices
  • Leadership and Responsibility:
    • Detail-oriented and team-oriented leadership and responsibility
    • Ability to demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
