Job Description

POSITION TITLE: Senior Scientist, Radiopharmacology

 

REPORTING LOCATION: Rockville, MD

 

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES: The Sr. Scientist will oversee the program including study design and study conduct.

 

Join our team to advance radiochemistry and cancer research, supporting the launch of our in vivo radio conjugate program. Support the operations and commercial teams for in vivo study planning and execution utilizing radio conjugates for testing in Champions extensive PDX Tumorbank in preclinical mouse pharmacology studies.

DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND PRODUCTIVITY EXPECTATIONS:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders, leveraging expertise in radiochemistry and radiobiology for in vivo radio conjugate studies.
  • Plan and execute high-quality in vivo studies using radiopharmaceuticals in collaboration with operational teams, project leadership and commercial teams.
  • Work with external vendors and clients to coordinate logistics around receipt and handling of conjugated molecules.
  • Analyze data, communicate results, and manage preclinical research.
  • Prepare and ensure quality of study protocols and reports.
  • May assist with study tasks, including xenografts, dosing, and data analysis.
  • Train staff in various techniques handling radiopharmaceutical compounds.
  • Act as a subject matter expert to externally facing clients to assist with troubleshooting, technical questions, data analysis and interpretation.
  • Stay current in the field and become proficient in working with a broad range of isotopes in a therapeutic setting.
  • Other duties may be assigned verbally at any time.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Expertise in radiochemistry, radiobiology, molecular imaging, and therapeutic radionuclide production and handling.
  • Expertise in conducting in vivo studies using radioconjugates therapeutically.
  • Experience with analysis and interpretation in vivo data of radioconjugate pharmaceuticals.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • PhD in a relevant field (e.g., chemistry, biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences).
  • Expertise in radiochemistry, radiobiology, molecular imaging, and therapeutic radionuclide production.
  • Experience with analysis and interpretation in vivo data of radioconjugates.
  • Strong computer, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must be able to sit and use hands to finger, handle and feel.
  • Must be able to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time using a computer in a typical office environment in a multi-level facility.
  • Some activities require repetitive motion and reaching, pulling, or pushing.
  • In carrying out the duties of the job there will be frequent exposure to fumes and chemical hazards
  • Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue.
